Dr Varotsi being a professional speaker is also an author of four books with international publishers, including Springer/Heidelberg, and numerous academic articles in Europe and in the USA (Journal of Maritime Law and Commerce, Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law, Transportation Law Journal, and others). Member of WISTA Hellas, Hellenic and French Maritime Law Association, and assoc. member of SNAME.
In addition to a burning PSC control issue, Dr. Varotsi shared with guests of the Club brief highlights on her new book “Marine Pollution Control: Legal and Managerial Frameworks” (Informal Law from Routledge, 2018).
President of Cyprus Marine Club, Capt. Eberhard Koch, welcomed the members with his opening speech. He updated guests with Cyprus Marine Club membership figures which now reached 67 corporate and 30 individuals and encouraged to attend next event on 18th April which will be hosting Mr. Mark Hadfield, CEO of Flow Water Technologies who will familiarize members with IMO guidelines for Ballast Water Management System.
Capt. Eberhard Koch was surprised during the event with flowers and beautiful birthday cake from the members and was offered heartfelt birthday wishes and accepted affectionate THANKS for being a charismatic leader, role model and keeping up an extraordinary work as a President of the Club.
After the presentation all guests were invited to raise any questions and then rich buffet was offered at the Home of Marine Club, Epsilon.
